Electric company to pay £21,000 for release of F-gas

Schneider Electric Ltd has today (Fri 1 April) been fined £3,000 for failing to recover a greenhouse gas that was released to the air at Stanford-le-Hope, Essex in 2013.
Basildon Magistrates’ Court also ordered the company to pay £18,368 costs.

Wales sees rise in number of people taking an entrepreneurial route off benefits

More than 4,300 new businesses have been started by entrepreneurial jobseekers in Wales according to new official statistics released by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

Lloyds share sales raise almost £14 billion for the taxpayer

The government has sold a further 1% shareholding in Lloyds Banking Group through the trading plan launched in December, taking the total raised for the taxpayer to almost £14 billion and reducing the government’s shareholding to below 14%. All sales are used to reduce the national debt.

Cannabis worth £625,000 seized by Border Force at Tilbury
