Derby residents show overwhelming backing for £220m A38 junction improvements

More than 80% of residents responding to a Highways England consultation agreed that the Little Eaton, Markeaton and Kingsway islands need improvements.
Project manager Monica Corso-Griffiths explained:
We had a phenomenal response to this consultation. More than 1,200 people came to see us at the event, and 739 of those responded in writing.

Libraries Taskforce secures further funding to roll out free wifi in public libraries across England.

From today local authorities can apply through the Arts Council application portal for free wifi funding. Libraries currently without free wifi access will be given priority and libraries that currently have wifi provision below the recommended technical specification will also have the opportunity to upgrade.

British motorcycle industry: Chancellor announces 600 new jobs at Norton

Regulator to investigate Derbyshire Healthcare following employment tribunal

Monitor has launched an investigation into Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust on behalf of its patients, after an employment tribunal involving Board and other senior members of staff at the trust highlighted concerns with how the trust is run.
Monitor will examine whether these concerns indicate more widespread problems with the way the trust is run.
