Welsh search and rescue charities awarded £230k by UK Government

Two Welsh search and rescue charities have been awarded almost £230,000 in funding from the UK government to improve safety across Wales’s waterways, coastlines and mountains, it was announced today (29 January).
The Severn Area Rescue Association in Monmouthshire and the North Wales Mountain Rescue Association in Conwy were awarded £221,046 and £6,000 respectively to purchase

Independent watchdog verifies £2.2bn savings for business from deregulation

Over the past six months, the independent Regulatory Policy Committee has verified over 100 additional legal changes, resulting in £2.2 billion net savings each year to business, charities and voluntary groups within the scope of the government’s one-in, two-out deregulation programme.

£23 million to help homeless turn around their lives

£5 million to support water rescue

Transport Minister John Hayes today (19 November 2014) announced £5 million funding to support the work of the life-saving charities that run rescue boats on rivers, lakes and other inland waterways.
