Wales sees rise in number of people taking an entrepreneurial route off benefits

More than 4,300 new businesses have been started by entrepreneurial jobseekers in Wales according to new official statistics released by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
Figures reveal that a total of 4,320 new businesses in Wales have been created using the Government’s New Enterprise Allowance (NEA) since it was introduced in April 2011.

£12 million to help people with mental health problems get back into work

Nearly half (46%) of people claiming Employment and Support Allowance have mental health conditions while mental ill-health is estimated to cost taxpayers and businesses £105 billion a year in health and police services, welfare benefits and sickness absence.

Employment Allowance: New data reveals benefit of tax cut for UK employers

Income tax cuts to benefit 26 million people from 6 April 2014
