Greening: Britain backs the Global Goals for Sustainable Development

The United Nations General Assembly has formally adopted the Global Goals – a new global framework, Transforming Our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, composed of 17 goals and 169 targets to wipe out poverty, fight inequality and tackle climate over the next 15 years.

Government sells further 1% shareholding in Lloyds

The government has sold a further 1% shareholding in Lloyds Banking Group through the trading plan launched in December, taking the total raised for the taxpayer to £15 billion and reducing the government’s shareholding to below 12%.
All sales are used to reduce the national debt.

Energy Trends and Prices statistical release: 24 September 2015

Highlights for the 3 month period May to July 2015, compared to the same period a year earlier include:

Primary energy consumption in the UK on a fuel input basis rose by 0.2%, on a temperature adjusted basis it fell by 0.7%. (table ET 1.2)
Indigenous energy production rose by a record 11.1% boosted by increased UKCS
