Higos Insurance Services Ltd has announced further expansion with the acquisition of Vaughan Insurance Brokers in the Somerset market town of Crewkerne.
Vaughan Insurance Brokers has been operating for more than 30 years in the area. A new high street office has opened at 9 Market Square, Crewkerne from where the re-named Vaughan Insurance Services will now operate.
Higos founder and managing director Ian Gosden said it has been central to the company’s expansion to take on locally recognized and respected businesses, extending its reach into communities in its South West heartland.
Gosden reiterated the company’s delight with the addition of Vaughan Insurance Brokers, noting that he looks forward to integrating their business into the company’s model of modern broking which combines the efficiencies of technology and the latest business practices with a local, personal service.
Higos was launched in Somerset in 1990 and has grown to employ more than 200 people across 17 offices in the South West. The branch, which will now trade as Vaughan Insurance Services, becomes Higos’ 17th office in the South West.
Natalie Chantry remains the Branch Manager of the new office and continues to be supported by Mandy Garrett, with the addition of Karla Genge, who has worked for Higos for three years.
Higos Insurance Services Ltd is one of the largest independent intermediaries in the South West specializing in the provision of general insurance products, ranging from personal lines to commercial. The company continues to grow through acquisition, its agent network, direct business and its underwriting facility.
In 2006, Higos opened its first High Street branch in Glastonbury, Somerset. Since this date Higos has continued to increase its High Street presence, acquiring additional insurance shops in Street, Langport, Chipping Sodbury, Somerton, Devizes, Calne, Corsham, Bournemouth, Bridgwater and have recently expanded to Worle and Braunton.
