£1.4 Million resurfacing investment on M5 between Junction 9 and 10

The work, starting on the night of Monday, 9 February, will take place along approximately a three mile stretch of the sothbound motorway. It will be carried out at night between 8.00pm and 6.00am and will require various lane closures. The southbound entry sliproad at Junction 9 will also need to be closed on occasion. The work will be completed by mid April.

Project sponsor Dave Frampton said,

This work will ensure this section of the M5 remains safe and reliable for drivers for many years to come.

In addition to the surfacing we will be taking the opportunity to replace a damaged kerb.

Every effort has been made to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum by scheduling the works at night and we are not expecting any delays for road users.

During closure of the southbound entry sliproad a clearly signed diversion route will be in place advising drivers to join the M5 northbound at Junction 9, continue until Junction 8 and return on the M5 southbound.
